The real planet of the Apes

#bigfootisreal
As you have heard us discuss on the Squatchers Lounge Podcast many times before, just what do you do with retired lab Chimps? Here is a great documentary on the Real Planet of the Apes.

"Our crew traveled to remote Liberia to discover 'Monkey Island,' an area inhabited solely by former lab tested chimpanzees who survived disease and two civil wars. We go to the island, interview the locals and meet the scientists involved in the testing facility 25 years ago. This documentary is a Motherboard production, made possible by 20th Century Fox's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."

Personally I worry for our cousins that are being retired from testing labs after decades of caged life. It is finally the time these beings are left to live on their own as well as protect the lands on which their wild brothers and sisters still live. Humans of the past have done horrible things in the name of science and these creatures are directly responsible for cures leading to longer human life and deserve a dignified way of life.

  1. A subject near and dear to my heart! They deserve far more respect than we give em! They served us! Now its time to repay that debt!
